Massage therapy dates back thousands of years and evidence shows that it can be of benefit to any body at any age. It is a natural method of assisting the body to restore and repair and it can be effective in treating many health issues.
Our treatments are tailored to your individual needs and we work on the principle that not one style fits all. Therefore a variety of techniques may be used to find the right treatment for you.

A sports or deep tissue massage can assist the body in preparation for physical activity or to aid the bodies recovery afterwards. Techniques may include fast and vigorous strokes, slow and deep pressure or some assisted stretching to increase joint mobility and flexibility.
Our therapists will ensure that communication is open during your session to ensure that any deep pressure body work is kept to your comfort level.

As the body grows during pregnancy, it is common to experience muscle aches, fatigue and discomfort. A pregnancy massage is ideal to ease those related symptoms and enjoy some quiet time out to rest the body and mind.
We have specialty cushions to allow for your growing bump or we can offer a side lying massage with pillows for your comfort.
Please note that hot stone therapy and the use of essential oils is not suitable during pregnancy.

Hot stones are a smooth rock made from Basalt (volcanic rock). The heated stones are massaged into the body with oil to assist in melting away those aches and pains.
The heat can provide deep relief and is perfect for people who prefer a lighter style of massage. Alternatively, the hot stones also warm up the soft tissue before a deeper more intense pressure is applied.
Clients report a better night sleep and a deep sense of relaxation following a hot stone treatment.

Cupping can assist with many ailments such as trigger points, plantar fasciitis, arthritis and sciatic pain.
Traditional chinese cupping uses glass cups and flame (heat) and modern cupping uses silicone cups and a hand pump to create suction. Both methods work on the same principle to create negative pressure on the muscle and connective tissue to create a stretch, improve circulation and reset the body.
Some redness or marking of the skin is common with this treatment and may not be suitable for people on blood thinning medications or with fragile skin.

Trigger points are hypersensitive areas in a muscle that can cause chronic and referred pain. Some common complaints caused by active trigger points are sciatic pain, headaches, migraines and aching between the shoulder blades.
Sustained pressure is applied to create a release in the muscle. Most likely trigger points have built up over time and may need multiple sessions to treat them.
Hot stone therapy, cupping, deep tissue work, stretching and home care can also be effective in treating trigger points. Your therapist can advise you of your treatment options.
